Aims:
- Reconnect African-Australian youth back to their communities, schools, employment and further studies; and
- Create hope for the future, good employment prospects, educational opportunities for African-Australian and other youths in Melbourne and other rural areas of Victoria.
Objectives:
- Facilitate leadership skills, teamwork, social skills and positive attitude through "Care Africa Youth Mentoring Program (CAYMP)".
- Inspire and motivate youths from African background to be successful in their undertaking through "Care Africa Star Tutoring (CAST)".
- Reduce high school dropout rate of African-Australian in the South Eastern region of Melbourne through (CAST).
- Promote and encourage positive values that involves self respect, worth and dignity (CAYMP),
- Develop inner strength and confidence to reach achievable goals (CAYMP).
Target Group:
- Young African-Australian who are refugee and new immigrant between (12 - 25) years old;
- Young person living in Victoria;
- Young person who is unemployed and need direction;
- Young person who could benefit from having adult mentor (role model); and
- Young person who is at risk.
